Summertime Style: Fruity Feels

One of the *biggest trends* I’ve noticed this summer is FRUIT – fruit printed, fruit shaped & fruit themed items are everywhere. I found this super cute off the shoulder dress at Forever 21 for less than $20 #SCORE. I paired it with a fun pair of white Quay sunnies & my favorite neutral block heels [that I’ve been wearing on repeat, in case you haven’t noticed] for a day of shopping & eating treats at Disney Springs!

It Was All A Dream: Flower Fields [& WordUp Magazine]

I know, I know – flower fields are REALLY trendy these days & you’re sick of seeing photos of them [#BlameTheBloggers] … but alas; here I am … posing in a flower field! In case you’re wondering – this one is actually located in a totally random Northern Virginia town [NOT in California!] It’s called:

BURNSIDE FARMS

& SessionsWithStessie & I literally stalked their social media pages every day for a month checking to see if they would be open in time for my trip to VA [priorities, people.] Luckily, as you probably guessed by now, they miraculously opened the week of my arrival & the tulips were in FULL BLOOM.

Ok, onto the *important* stuff… I was REALLY excited when I found this Pistola Denim jacket [it’s actually almost like a shirt because it’s so lightweight] because honestly, is there anything better than having a Biggie quote embroidered across your back? NOPE, not when you’re a white girl harboring a deep appreciation for 90’s rap + a slight obsession with the East Coast VS West Coast conspiracy theories… Anyways, I bought it in person at Bloomingdales – unfortunately, it’s already sold out on their website 🙁 but it IS still in stock on Windsor’s online store, woohoo!

I thought it would be fun to pair the jacket with a drop waist, floral, lace detailed dress, some nude block heel sandals & a pair of pink mirrored sunnies for the flower field expedition [as I assume any logical person would do.]

PS: If you’re in the *northern VA* area checking out the flower fields – you should also stop by Stone Tower Winery & grab a bottle [or 3] of rosé like we did!

& yes, I did switch sunglasses when switching venues…. is anyone surprised?

Drinking For The Insta In DC

HALFSMOKE DC

SoOo if you know me, you know I have a track record for ridiculous #EatingForTheInsta experiences – aka most of the time I order food/drinks or go to certain restaurants in general, I do it because I know it’s going to be photo worhty. HALFSMOKE in DC was the ultimate example of this. I loved the super fun interior and [as you can tell from the photos] the milkshakes were INSANE. Steph was a big fan of the tater tots as well – so much so that she burned the entire roof of her mouth with one 🙂

How cute is this neon sign?! There was also a huge Jenga game + other old fashioned board games on the coffee table below!

Pink Lanterns + Pink Floyd

This is the 1st of *many* posts recapping my recent trip to Virginia/Washington D.C. to visit my blonde bestie, @sessionswithstessie. I wanted to start with this day + outfit because I’m soOo obsessed with it  – I think it’s the ultimate example of mixing high & low end items to create an overall “expensive looking” outfit.

This top [wearing size medium] was only $18 & the faux leather skirt [wearing size small] was $15 … NOT JOKING. I also wore this top with a pair of black skinny jeansthe same boots on my flight in! I love how the neckline cut out + lace-up sides instantly makes a plain band t-shirt a little bit more *chic* – but just as comfy as a regular one! Oh & fun fact: when I was buying it, the tween employee literally asked me, “what’s pink floyd?” … #LOL.

I was originally super sad when I found out that the *infamous* cherry blossoms of D.C. had already wilted prior to my arrival & I wouldn’t be able to take tons of artsy pics of them… BUT THEN [during one of my daily Instagram explore page lurks] I spotted a photo of these insanely adorable PINK LANTERNS hanging all throughout CityCenter & my mood instantly turned around. Especially when I realized that these lanterns were conveniently located by the HERMÈS, Louis Vuitton & Dior boutiques.

Besides just having amazing shops, CityCenter has some great little places to eat [or take photos of your food at] like: Dolcezza Gelato, Fruititive & Astro Doughnuts
